Breakdown Phenomena in Mercury Vapour Arc Discharge Exposed to External Magnetic Field.
Original language description
The oscillations of an arc in external magnetic field lead to shortenings (breakdowns) between adjacent windings of the arc path. The results of observations of the breakdown area by a camera show that the formation of a new arc path may be divided intotwo different phases. The first one is characterized by a very slow current increase and low current values.
