Hydraulics of Bridge Structures during Flood event.

Result description

The paper deals with an experimental investigation of hydraulic charakteristics of the overflowed bridge models when the discharge is partly going below and over the model. Two shapes of bridge cross section were studied - rectangular and a shape with rounding upstream face. The ultrasonic velocity profile meter UVP Monitor was used to determine a distribution of discharges going over and below the bridge models. Various equations of discharges were tested and appropriate values of discharge coefficients were obtained.
