Dependence of laminar and turbulent flow predictions on rheological characterization of homogeneous slurries.
Result description
Kaolin slurries of different concentration were tested experimentally in laminar and turbulent regime pipe loop and rheological parameters were compared with these determined by a rotational viscometer. Validity of two prediction turbulent flow models, based on rheological parameters, was discussed and it was illustrated how the models are able to describe the turbulent flow in pipes and was established condition for good approximation of slurry turbulent flow by the mentioned models.
