The IHDS and POA processes applied both individually or in conjunction with one another represents an ideal tool for a very effective but inexpensive upgrading of water purification works. The High Rate (HR) Clarifier with a fully fluidised sludge blanket, incorporating both the IHDS and POA processes is capable of operating at an upflow velocity at the sludge blanket between 10-25 m/h and more.
