Comparison of experimental data with numerical simulation of saltatory particle flow.

Result description

The study deals with experimental verification of 2D numerical model of single spherical particle saltation in an open channel with rough bed. The calculated kinematical characteristics of saltation are mean length, height and duration of the jump, angleof rotation, longitudinal and angular velocity; parameters that defined the motion are particle diameter and density, shear velocity, fluid density and viscosity, water depth and roughness of the channel bed.
