Soil water repellency and its hydro-geomorphological consequences.
Original language description
Anthropogenic activities, e.g. application of manure or municipal waste compost, mulching, and green manuring, do not have only positive, but also negative impacts. They increase the levels of soil organic matter and nutrients, improve soil aggregation and resistance to erosion, but they can also result in the soil water repellency during prolonged dry spells in summer. Two methods were used to measure the persistence of water repellency: the water drop penetration time (WDPT) test and the field infiltration experiment.
