Liquefying of dense fine-grained suspension
Original language description
The paper deals with an investigation of the rheological behaviour modification of dense fine-grained suspensions by peptising agents. The peptising agent helps to reach much higher concentrations of solids and/or lower energy consumption during the slurry flow in a pipe. With increasing concentration of the peptising agent the apparent viscosity and the yield stress gradually decrease, the later one even vanishes. The laminar/turbulent transition point is reached for peptised slurries at the significantly lower flow velocity compared to the untreated slurry.
