Numerical model of non-spherical particle saltation
Original language description
The mathematical model and numerical simulations are developed for calculation of an ellipsoidal particle saltation movement. The two stages of saltation are considered: the particle movement in fluid and the particle-bed collision. For the first stage the system of equations are derived. The inertial effect of the fluid on the particle motion is described in details using the theory of the added mass. The particle-bed collision process is described as random process by the stochastic model. The momentof a particle-bed collision and the contact point is defined using the contact zone way and the random-number generator. The values of particle motion parameters after particle-bed collision are determined from the known values of them just before collision with help of the impulse equation.
