Effectiveness of gain control in EDFAs against trafffic with different levels of bursty behavior.
Original language description
Several gain control techniques have been suggested to combat the gain fluctuations of EDFA with this type of traffic. We investigate the effectiveness of two such methods (highly inverted amplifiers and all-optical gain clamping) while varying parameters characterizing the burstiness of the traffic.
