Using aerosol-based techniques and solution-dopins for the fabrication of optical fibers for fiber lasers.
Original language description
The papers deals with preparation of silica materials for special optical fiber drawing by the MCVD method and its combination with solution doping. These aerosol-based techniques are demostrated as a process exhibiting general features of the sol-gel techniques. Attention is given mainly to Er/Yb optical fibers prepared primarily for use in the pulsed (soliton) fiber lasers. Some basic characteristics of the prepared materials and some relations between technology and material properties are considered.
