Chromatic dispersion measurement using a multiwavelength frequency-shifted feedback fiber laser.

  • Original language description

A laser emitting simultaneously over 17 wavelengths spread over the whole C-band with power uniformity reaching 3dB was realized. Its reliability demonstrated on chromatic dispersion measurement performed over the 1530-1560nm band using the time-of-flight method. A standard fiber, a non-zero dispersion shifted fiber and a dispersion compensating fiber were measured. The results are within a1 error when compared with a standard component analyzer measurement.
