Silica-based optical fibres with refractive-index profiles tailored in a region of 1.46-1.62 for fibre-optic chemical detection

  • Original language description

The paper presents PCG optical fibers with cores composed of highly doped silica with step-index as well as inverted-graded refractive-index profiles tailored in the region of refractive indexes above that of silica and PCG fibers drawn from performs ofoptical glass. It is shown that the proposed approach makes possible to tailor the fiber sensitivity if the cladding refractive index is in a range from 1.46 to 1.62.

Optická vlákna na bázi křemenného skla s indexem lomu v oblasti 1,46-1,62 pro vláknově-optickou chemickou detekci

  • Czech description

Článek se zabývá optickými vlákny typu Polymer-Clad-Glass (PCG) s jádrem z vysoce dopovaného křemennéhoo skla s invertovaným gradientním a skokovým profilem indexu lomu, jehož hodnoty se pohybují v oblasti nad indexem lomu čirého křemenného skla. Vláknabyla připravena z různých preforem optických skel. Tento přístup umožňuje optimalizaci citlivosti těchto vláken ke změnám indexu lomu optického obalu v oblasti 1,46-1,62.
