Initiated by a paper of Agdeniz and Yarman experiments were performed using the Karhunen-Loeve Transform for speech coding. The paper presents a critical view on the approach. Several modifications of the original method are proposed. It is stated that the obtained signal-to-noise ratio of the approach is not sufficient for speech coding.

V návaznosti na článek Agdenize and Yarmana byly provedeny experimenty s použitím Karhunen-Loeveho transformace pro kódování řeči. Článek shrnuje kritické zhodnocení metody. Je navrženo několik dalších modifikací původní metody. Je konstatováno, že výsledný poměr signál-šum tohoto přístupu není dostatečný pro kódování řeči.
