Results of experiments performed with a long-period grating (LPG) inscribed with a CO2 laser in a single-mode optical fiber with inverted parabolic-index profile in the cladding are given. Responses of an LPG with a period of 500 mm to temperature changes and temperature-induced refractive-index changes of the external medium were investigated. An average temperature sensitivities of 0.56 and 0.86 nm/oC were obtained for a bare LPG and an LPG recoated with a polymeric layer, respectively.

Czech description
Jsou uvedeny výsledky experimentů s mřížkou s dlouhou periodou (LPG) zapsanou CO2 laserem v jednovidovém optickém vlákně s invertovaným parabolickým profilem indexu lomu v plášti. Byly zkoumány odezvy LPG s periodou 500 mm na teplotní změny a tepelně vyvolané změny indexu lomu okolního prostředí. Průměrná teplotní citlivost byla 0.56 nm/o C pro nepokrytou LPG a 0.86 nm/o C pokrytou polymerní vrstvou.
