Real-time label-free monitoring of the cellular response to osmotic stress using conventional and long-range surface plasmons
Original language description
We report a new way of monitoring of the response of the live cells to osmotic stress. Changes induced by the normal rat kidney (NRK) cells on a surface of SPR chip were monitored using two modes of surface plasmon with different penetration depth, conventional and long-range surface plasmons, when the cells were introduced into contant with a non-isotonic solutions. Due to the different responses of these two types of SPR sensors, it was possible to distinguish different processes inside the cells.
