    In this paper we describe the preparation and characterization of cadmium sulfide (CdS) particles grown on the Mg and Na-vermiculite. The processes of the CdS formation were studied by using XRD, SEM, FTIR, TGA, TEM, AFM. The possible ordering of the CdSin the vermiculite interlayer was proposed using the molecular modeling.
