Identification of alginite and bituminite in rocks other than coal. 2006, 2009 and 2011 round robin exercises of the ICCP Identification of Dispersed Organic Matter Working Group
Original language description
The round robin exercise aimed to assess the applicability of the original and newly written definitions of bituminite and alginate were evaluated and compared in the identifying of dispersed organic matter in rocks. The new definitions clearly define the differences in morphology and optical properties and are necessary for the resolution of bituminite from other alginite forms or mineral-bituminous groundmass.
