Konzervace a průzkum Bronzového kroužkového opasku či náhrdelníku halštatské mohylové kultury z Dýšiny

  • Original language description

The investigated necklace was originally made from almost 3.000 bronze rings with a diameter of about 5 mm. The rings were studied during conservation work including chemical analyses and metallographic examinations. The rings were probably cast in multi-sectional moulds that would have enabled the smelter to obtain a great deal of products at a single casting. Although the rings vary in size we cannot prove any use of different moulds and subsequently alloys on a larger scale. Risers on the rings wereremoved after casting by grinding. It could be simply done by putting items on a stick or bar and successive grinding ? most likely in a groove of a stone. Traces of this operation are still clearly visible on the objects however further research to define the type of stone has not been carried out.
