Der Artikel befasst sich mit der Geschichte und Archäologie des Marbod-Reiches. Analysiert wurden sowohl archäologische als auch schriftliche Quellen, dabei hat es sich gezeigt, dass beide Quellenarten oft im Widerspruch zueinander stehen. Der Autor zeigt, dass die schriflichen Quellen den archäologischen bevorzugt sind und findet solche Arbeitsverfahren methodisch falsch.
