Settlements patterns as seen in pottery decoration style: a case study from the early Neolithic site of Bylany (Czech Republic)
Original language description
The aim of this study was to evaluate the anthropological concept of material culture style in the case of pottery decoration from the long-term early Neolithic settlement site of Bylany in central Europe (Czech Republic). Quantitative and spatial analyses of the incised decoration of the pottery assemblages revealed spatial patterns in the settlement. The pottery style was not only related to social behaviour but also strongly affected by settlement refuse management and subsequent formation processes.
