A stater hoard and single Celtic coins from settlement of Třebestovice (okr. Nymburk, Central Bohemia)
Original language description
An assemblage of Celtic coins from the settlement in Třebestovice has brought out new knowledge on Celtic coinage. The individually discovered coins were probably accidentally lost by the site’s inhabitants during the oppida period. The drachm of the Simmering type is a valuable proof of presence of Bratislava coinage in the territory of Bohemia. Of supreme importance is the hoard of four so far unknown variants of shell-stater ‚prototypes‘ minted during the initial stage of the oppida period. The hoard is also one of few cases of Celtic coin hoards found inside a settlement in the territory of Bohemia.
