Ceramic assemblages from Prague-Hradčany from the Late Middle Ages to the Modern Period. Possibilities and limits of testimonial value
Original language description
Since the Middle Ages, the town of Hradčany played the role of material and personal base for the ruler of the Czech lands and his court. The Fire of Prague in 1541 was a fundamental moment in the transformation of the settlement’s character, not only in terms of the form of the buildings. In a relatively short period of time, the social structure of Hradčany also changed dramatically. Is this modified situation visible in the material culture, especially in ceramic assemblages? Working with a larger number of assemblages will allow the application of the so-called consumption strategy approach.
