Original language description
Despite a century of archaeological research in Prague Castle and the adjacent Hradčany only 22 pieces of Chinese porcelain have been discovered. Of these, five have been successfully restored, though one is too fragmentary to meet the ethical guidelines for restoration. The remaining fifteen sherds are no larger than 30 × 30 mm. In total 19 of all fragments can be traced to the late Ming dynasty (late 16th to early 17th century). Three of these are kraak porcelain, distinguished by panel decoration. A fragment from the Golden Lane at Prague Castle, along with two vessels from waste pit H, are of a later date, identified as Chinese Imari from the first half of the 18th century. All of these porcelains originated from the Jingdezhen kilns in Jiangxi province.
