  • Original language description

The chapter deals with amber from the La Tène burial ground Pezdirčeva njiva in Podzemelj in Slovenia. The research was conducted as part of the international GAČR–DFG project Amber Roads of the Early Iron Age in Central Europe. 104 samples from 30 graves were taken. Raman spectroscopy, another vibrational spectroscopy method, was used to determine the origin of the amber. These measurement results show the amber collection is highly homogeneous. In all cases, the amber most likely originates from the eastern part of the Baltic Sea (northern Poland and Lithuania). Recently, preliminary data from the workshop at the central LT C site (250‒120 BCE) in Němčice nad Hanou in Moravia were published for 99 samples from the eastern Baltic Sea, with a provenance identical to that of the Pezdirčeva njiva in Podzemelj set from LT A‒C (450‒120 BCE).
