Guide to Manuscript Collections in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The publication builds on the previous 4 thematically divided volumes of Guide to Manuscript Collections in the Czech Republic. In a large English text the publication brings results of the Department for the Cataloguing and Study of Manuscripts from theyears 1992-2010. This publication completes the first stage of registration of manuscripts, the basic components of long-term project of the General Catalogue of Manuscripts, which aims to make available all our wealth of handwritten manuscript and manuscripts of Czech origin abroad. This publication gives an overview of 1175 institutions in the Czech Republic, managing manuscript collections or individual manuscripts and brings information about the numbers, dating and content of manuscripts, including a brief description of the relics created until 1526. There is also a characteristic of the collection, bibliography, possibly a reference to published catalogue. For orientation in the text serve geographical, name and subject index.
