The aim of this workshop was to investigate the history of Czech historical Slavonic studies in a broader context of Central Europe. It covered subjects such as the position of historical Slavonic studies with respect to closely related fields of study, teaching of historical Slavonic studies at universities, leading personalities of historical Slavonic studies, political influences and their impact on the institutional foundation of historical Slavonic studies and its overall conception.
