Original language description

Hydrobotanical and hydrobiological field work was caried out at Lake Ladoga in NW Russia, mostly at Impilahti Bay in the northern part of the lake. Water temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen concentration were measured in a medium dense stand of Elodeacanadensis and in open water. Plant stand increased substantially all these parameters. Density of communities of littoral phytophilous zooplankton was investigated both in macrophyte stands and open water.
