Spoil heaps from brown coal mining: technical reclamation versus spontaneous revegetation.
Original language description
Spontaneously re-vegetated and technically reclaimed spoil heaps from brown-coal mining are compared considering botanical composition. It was concluded that spontaneous re-vegetation is better alternative to technical reclamation in the most cases. It provides vegetation cover which is more diverse and better adapted to site conditions than that resulting from technical reclamation. Moreover, spontaneous succession is inexpensive.
