Microsite versus dispersal limitation in primary succession: A case study from an abandoned ore-washery sedimentation basin

  • Original language description

Based on the species traits, we tried to identify the factors limiting species occurrence in harsh environment of sedimentation basin. In addition, we tested site vs. dispersal limitation by sowing experiment. A higher proportion of anemochorous and endozoochorous species in the vegetation of sedimentation basin than in species of its surroundings indicated greater importance of dispersal limitation. It was confirmed by sowing experiment as successful establishment of most sown species was recorded.

Microsite versus dispersal limitation in primary succession: A case study from an abandoned ore-washery sedimentation basin
