Original language description
The new genus Barbatosphaeria is described for a perithecial ascomycete known as Calosphaeria barbirostris occurring on decayed wood of deciduous trees under the periderm. Anamorphs produced in vitro belong to Sporothrix and Ramichloridium with holoblastic-denticulate conidiogenesis. Phylogenetic analyses of nuLSU rDNA sequences indicate that this fungus is distinct from morphologically similar Lentomitella, tentatively placed in the Trichosphaeriales.

Czech description
Nový rod Barbatosphaeria je popsán pro peritheciální askomycet známý jako Calosphaeria barbirostris, který se vyskytuje na tlejícím dřevu listnatých stromů. Anamorfa objevená in vitro patří rodům Sporothrix a Ramichloridium s holoblasticko-dentikulátní konidiogenezí. Fylogenetické analýzy LSU rDNA zřetelně podporují oddělení Barbatosphaeria a morfologicky podobné Lentomitella, předběžně umístěné v řádu Trichosphaeriales.
