Recent changes (2008) in cyanobacterial taxonomy based on a combination of molecular background with phenotype and ecological consequences (genus and species concept)
Original language description
In th article are summarized the changes in the cyanobacterial system, which were realized on the basis of molecular analyses. They are evaluated also relations of genetic background to phenotype and ecological characteristics of different taxa and discussed the concept of cyanobacterial genera and species according to modern criteria. The review of the modern and revised system of cyanobacteria is also published and examples of genera mostly changed on the bases of molecular analyses are demosntrated (with descriptions and documentation of genetic position).
