The distribution of high mountain species of vascular plants within the mountains of the Sudetic System
Original language description
The paper presents the distribution of selected high mountain taxa (subalpine, alpine and subnival altitudinal elements) in mountain ranges of the Sudetes Mts. Characteristic distribution patterns of groups of taxa are recognized that represent specifictypes of regional geographical ranges. Types of phytocoenoses with the highest biodiversity of high mountain species in the investigated area are characterized. Also a problem of the origin of these species in the Sudetes Mts. is discussed in terms of historical vegetation changes and previous interrelationships with Alpine, Carpathian and subpolar territories of Europe.
