Improvements in the structure of electrospun polyurethane nanofibrous materials used for bacterial removal from wastewater
Original language description
Filtration properties of electrospun polyurethane nanofibrous materials were investigated. Filtration efficiencies were relatively low, when we used filtration materials having low area weights(0.3 to 1.9 g per m2), but they increased significantly withincreasing area weight. Using filters with the area weight of 3.8 g per m2, we achieved considerably higher pathogen removal efficiency reaching up to 4.86 logs. Such efficiency is fully comparable with commercially available microfiltration membranes.
