Taraxacum riparium (Compositae-Cichorieae), a new species of the section Palustria from Austria
Original language description
A new species of Taraxacum section Palustria was revealed in the material from Kärnten and Steiermark, Austria. The new species is described under the name T. riparium Štěpánek, Kirschner, Kirchmeier & Meierott. It is characterized morphologically (broadly ovate outer bracts and big achenes with a long thin cone) and karyologically (2n = 24, as triploid and agamospermous). The closest taxa to be compared with the new species are T. paludosum s. str., T. bibulum, T. pseudobalticum and T. domabile. Similar leaf shape is found in T. turfosum and T. dentatum.
