Wildfire in the Bohemian Switzerland NP (Czech Republic): Frequency, Distribution and Impact on Forest Vegetation
Original language description
We described the trajectory of the natural postfire succession in the sandstone landscape of the National Park Bohemian Switzerland. We found significant differences in species composition between post fire and not influenced Scotch Pine stands also in forests older than 100 years. Considering fire adaptations of the Scotch Pine and the vegetation survey results we can conclude that the natural pine forests occurrence in the BSNP sandstone landscape is at least partly conditioned by regular wildfire regime.
