Original language description

Chromosome numbers/DNA ploidy level were determined in five Pilosella species (family Asteraceae) from New Zealand. All taxa were polyploid apomicts and were introduced there from Europe. Presented karyological data involve a first chromosome count (an aneuploid hyperhexaploid chromosome number) for P. stoloniflora and also the first data on the species P. bauhini for this country.
