Original language description
The study deals with the issue of the historical representations in the texts of the Czech literature of the 1890s. It focuses on the relations between the modernist innovations of the historical discours and the transformations of the identities at theturn of the 19th century. The author exposes these relations by using two examples of two types of identities: the generation identity and the national identity. Herewith the study revises also the traditional image of the Czech literary modernism as a movement with a highly anti-historical programme.

Studie se zabývá problematikou historických reprezentací u české literární moderny na přelomu 19. a 20. století. Věnuje se souvislostem mezi modernistickými inovacemi historického diskursu a transformacemi, jež se v téže době uskutečnily v oblasti kolektivních identit. Tyto souvislosti ukazuje na konkrétním příkladu dvou typů identity: generační a národní, a současně tak reviduje i tradiční obraz literární moderny jako hnutí s výrazně antihistoricistním programem.
