The essay summarizes Patočka's philosophy of history in general, and his concept of Czech history in particular. It is explained that his philosophy of history is connected, from the very beginning of his career of a thinker, with phenomenological philosophising of Husserl a Heidegger. It turns out what is the role of Christianity in the history of Europe, and that it is necessity to think the Christian religion to its very end in rather "heretical" way to escape the contemporary nihilism.

Studie shrnuje Patočkovu filosofii dějin a jeho pojetí dějin českých. Dokládá, že Patočkova filosofie dějin je od počátku jeho filosofické dráhy spjata s fenomenologií Husserla a Heideggera. Vychází přitom najevo úloha křesťanství v dějinách Evropy a nezbytnost "kacířsky" domyslet křesťanství do posledních důsledků, aby bylo možno překonat vládnoucí nihilismus.
