    Using the example of Zlín, the study presents the concept of the ideal industrial town which emerged in the 1920s and 1930s at the Baťa footwear concern. In the study, this concept is traced in the wider context of the history of urbanisation and urban planning, and is linked to the results of existing research on company towns and Fordism, among other work.
