Edith Stein's Phenomenology of Woman's Personality and Value
Original language description
The chapter's overall focus is on Edith Stein's phenomenological and ethical contribution to contemporary feminist thought. In particular, the author applies Heinämaa's take on classical phenomenological approach to sexual difference, in order to offer a new interpretative framework for Edith Stein's thought on woman. Moreover, the chapter argues in support of the claim that Stein anticipated some aspects of the contemporary feminist ethics, particularly the ethics of care.
