Abstraction and Similarity. Edition and Translation of the Correspondence between Marty and Cornelius
Original language description
In this chapter the correspondence between Anton Marty and Hans Cornelius is published. The letters from Marty to Cornelius are transcribed from materials that are kept in the Bayerische Staatsbliothek. The letters from Cornelius to Marty are transcribed from materials that are kept in the Masaryk Archives in Prague. An introduction is provided to give some background about Cornelius, who is hardly known to contemporary scholars, and to explain how his theory of abstraction, based on the apprehension of similarity, is a concern for Marty.
