Result description
This paper deals with Leibniz’s theorem about the impossibility of squaring the central conic sections, proven in his unpublished, long essay “De Quadratura arithmetica...”.Thanks to new manuscript sources, I will show the deep links between Leibniz’s theorem and a similar theorem proven by James Gregory in 1667.
