The text sheds light on the role party intelligentsia played in state socialist Czechoslovakia. It is predominantly devoted to visions of social changes that were publicly discussed during 1968. Simultaneously, the author analyses emancipatory visions of radical reformists as Karel Kosík, Josef Zumr, Karel Bartošek etc. and examines limits of their political thought. The text is an elaborated version of Czech study “Radikální demokraté a Pražské jaro: reforma, nebo revoluce”?
