Post-Husserl Husserlian Phenomenological Epistemology: Seebohm on History as a Science and the System of Sciences
Original language description
The review article critically analyzes Thomas Seebohm’s History as a Science and the System of Sciences. Seebohm’s account of the phenomenological foundation of history as an empirical science is juxtaposed with Husserl’s account of the transcendental historicity of the intentional meanings sedimented in the foundations of the exact sciences presented in the Crisis of European Sciences. The result of this juxtaposition is articulated in terms of an account of what is phenomenologically at stake in Husserl’s hints in the direction of a non-empirically historical genealogy of conceptual origins, which reactivates the intentional-historical meanings sedimented in the foundations of exact cognitive disciplines.
