    Are Deontic Modals Hyperintensional?

  • Original language description

The paper focuses on the question of whether hyperintentional logic provides a suitable tool for the analysis of deontic statements. It critically assesses the argumentation of two proponents of the affirmative answer to the question - Glavaničová and Faroldi and points to several weak points of their argumentation. More generally it strives to show that any attempt to treat deontic modals as hyperintensionally is likely to lead to a system of deontic logic that is intolerably weak.
