The 8th Colloquium, like its predecessors, focuses largely on concepts and questions constitutive of our understanding of ethics, politics and law - the relation between truth and value that has structured our lives and institutions since the very beginning of the birth of the ideas of ethics and politics in Ancient Greece and Rome. Critical reflection and discussion of these matters furthers better understanding of our values and institutions built on them, thereby also helping to maintain them. Thinkers of particular interest: Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Wittgenstein, Weil, Murdoch, Winch, Gaita.
