Uproar against Liberal Majoritarianism. Critiques from African Perspectives
Original language description
The article deals with an important theme of critiques of liberal majoritarianism from an African, chiefly sub-Saharan African perspective. It explains the central claims African and Africanist philosophers and political scientists advance against liberal majoritarianism and indicates potential normative participatory democratic ways of development. It infers that this is an instance of a perception of liberal majoritarianism in sub-Saharan Africa. The article contributes to critiques that explain political philosophical concerns over the feasibility of this model in sub-Saharan Africa within the context of cultural, social, and political specificities.
