Original language description
The OptiQ database application is a digital infrastructure for a corpus of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts containing optical writings. The application is based on David C. Lindberg’s fifty-year-old catalogue: “A Catalogue of Medieval and Renaissance Optical Manuscripts” (1975). The database, of which Bohemian and Central European manuscripts and literature form an important component, also provides access to other relevant materials available online (digital manuscript catalogues, editions, manuscript facsimiles, databases of authors, etc.), according to the latest standards for accessing digital objects (e.g. IIIF). Version 2024 is a development version of the application just before the official launch.
