Bohemian Kings in Jan Długosz’s Annales and Reception of Długosz’s Opinions in the Czech Historiography of the 19th Century
Original language description
As the Bohemian rulers belonged to the biggest political rivals of Polish kings and from the position of the Roman Kings they intervened in the conflict between Poland and the Teutonic Order, the image of most Bohemian rulers in Annales is not very flattering. Czech historians of the 19th century criticized Dlugosz’s black-and-white picture of Czechs, but still praised Annales as an important source for the knowledge of Czech history of the 15th century.
