Der Aufsatz analysiert zwei Beispiele der religiösen „Koexistenz“ und Wahrnehmung der Konfession in der Oberlausitz in der Zeit der Konfessionalisierung. Es geht erstens um den Laubaner Bürgermeister Matthias Scheufler und seinen Konversionsbericht als Beispiel der Konflikte im städtischen Milieu, zweitens um die Untertanen und Pfarrer des Klosters St. Marienthal und dortige Streitigkeiten vor allem am Anfang der 1620er Jahre.
